Noval Property’s mixed-use building, “Ardittos House,” has received the internationally recognized LEED Gold (BD+C New Construction & Major Renovation v4.1) certification. Located in the heart of Athens, on Ardittou Street in Mets, “Ardittos House” has undergone a complete reconstruction and now stands as a modern residential and office building distinguished for its high-quality and refined aesthetics. The reconstruction of the property goes beyond a simple renovation and is part of a broader strategy for redesigning the urban environment, based on sustainable development, the reuse of existing building stock, and a balance between the Athenian historic heritage and the needs of contemporary life.
The transformation of the unfinished and until recently unused structure into a LEED Gold-certified building required the adoption of high technical standards and the use of materials that comply with specific environmental criteria. To achieve this goal, sustainable practices were implemented throughout both the design and construction phases, incorporating modern technologies to minimize the project’s environmental footprint. Specifically, the main HVAC system was modeled in accordance with the ASHRAE 90.1-2010 standard, under the “Energy and Atmosphere” category, while in terms of the building’s energy performance, energy saving was achieved through a coordinated architectural and electromechanical design.
In line with the project’s ambitious sustainability goals, special attention was given to the reuse of the building’s materials, such as the marble cladding from the original façade which was carefully removed, restored, and incorporated into the interior spaces, supporting the principles of the circular economy while retaining key elements of the building’s original architectural character.
The LEED Gold certification of “Ardittos House” marks yet another significant achievement for Noval Property, reaffirming the company’s leading role and commitment to transforming the urban landscape through innovative and sustainable developments.
